Hey there, this is William Campagna, a photographer from Melrose, Massachusetts. I’m a Film Media major at the University of Rhode Island, and I will be graduating in the summer of 2025. I chose Film Media as my major because I have always been drawn to the visual arts, whether it be animation, drawing, or photography, I just can’t get enough of it! I’ve tried many different facets of visual arts in the past, mainly animation and drawing, but I unfortunately just didn’t have the patience for those approachs . However, once I finally picked up photography in high school, I was hooked. My main focus for my photography nowadays is to capture scenic landscapes occupied by architecture, but I have also been dabbling in toy photography as of late. I love the freedom and control over your subjects that you have with toy photography, I can get the perfect pose for the shot without having to order a human subject into doing so. However, I do love taking photos of human subjects, especially when capturing portraits (or when my friends need good looking photos for a dating profile). From a very young age, I was interested in photography, mainly because of my favorite superhero, Spider-Man. I could always relate to Peter Parker, the man behind the mask, so that led my younger self to take an interest in the line of work that he pursued (besides vigilante crime fighting, of course). Now that I’m far into my college career, I don’t regret picking Film Media as my major in the slightest. This major has given me so many opportunities to be behind the camera, pick up useful editing techniques, and meet like-minded people along the way. What could be better than that?
